In addition to singing, Peter plays a variety of bagpipes including the Highland bagpipe, Irish uilleann pipes, gaita gallega, Swedish bagpipe, Scottish smallpipes, cornemuse du Berry, and hümmelchen.  Notable performances include an appearance with Three Notch'd Road as bagpipe soloist in Leopold Mozart's "Die Bauernhochzeit", solo performances with Early Music New York and other ensembles, and winning the Overseas Class in the Lowland and Border Pipers' Society 2016 competition, in addition an appearance as Highland bagpipe soloist in Peter Maxwell Davies' "Orkney Wedding with Sunrise" with the Stamford Symphony Orchestra.  He is the director of Marginalia, an ensemble specializing in the instrumental music and piping of the Medieval era, whose program "Marginalia: in search of the medieval bagpipe" recently premiered in New York.  Peter also appears as pipe major of The King's Highlanders, a pipe and drum ensemble specializing in the field music of the 18th century Highland regiments, and forms half of The Royal Pipers, a bagpipe duo playing renaissance and continental European music on a variety of French and Spanish pipes.  In addition to concert work (solo and with ensembles up to a full symphony orchestra) he plays regularly for weddings, funerals, and other events, for which he is happy to help decide what instrument and music is right for the venue and occasion.
